Getting a homeowners quote can be a straight forward matter.

What is required for a homeowners quote?

Getting a new quote on your homeowners insurance doesn’t take very long and gives you the added benefit of knowing that you’re paying a fair price.

What do we need?

Your name and address of course. We also require some basic details on the home in order to determine the replacement cost value of your home, like:

  • year it was built
  • construction (e.g. wood/frame)
  • number of stories
  • basement? Is it furnished?
  • type of exterior
  • type of roof
  • square footage
  • is their a garage or carport
  • type of heat
  • depending on the age, we may need the date of last updates for heat, electricity, roof, and plumbing
  • your date of birth
  • whether the house is mortgaged
  • prior claims
  • prior insurance company
  • length of time you have lived in the house

Getting a new homeowners quote might sound like a lot, but we can generally get all the information we require in 5-10 minutes of your time. We’ll then put a quote together for you and get back to you with it. Please note we are only able to quote on properties in British Columbia. Our area of expertise is Northwest BC including Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert and surrounding areas.

Getting a quote for your business or commercial property can be a straight forward matter.

What is required for a business or commercial quote?

  • Your name and address of course.
  • We need a thorough understanding of your operations (i.e. what business are you in?)
  • If you own a building(s), we need all details like square footage, type of construction, heating, roof type, and whether it is alarmed and/or sprinklered.
  • Another common question is your gross receipts (or gross revenue). Insurers use this figure to gauge their liability exposure.
  • We will also need to know things like:
    • your ownership structure (to ensure everyone is properly insured)
    • your experience in your business
    • number of employees
    • do loss payables (i.e. banks) need to be shown on your policy?
    • prior insurance company
    • prior claims
  • Clarification of your coverage requirements:
    • building limits
    • liability limits
    • other coverages required like flood, earthquake, business interruption, extra expense, etc.

Getting a new commercial quote might sound like a lot of work, but it only takes a few minutes of your time and it can go a long way to providing you with better coverage.
